Autism and the Environment 101: Online Course 24
What is the Importance of the Autism-Environmental Link to Society?
The rise in autism diagnoses, and other immune and chronic illnesses, is an alarming trend that needs to be addressed. The increasing numbers of people with environmental sensitivities shows that something is awry in our environment. Personal health and environmental health are inseparably connected. Our priorities in combating environmental hazards need to include predicting risk, preventing harm and reducing and reversing injury in autism and other environmental illnesses. As we understand that the environmental factors leading to autism also lead to many other illnesses, we hope to find common cause in making our planet a health-promoting rather than health-destroying place to live.
