New resource for Medicaid HCBS waiver

In March, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released new requirements for the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver, which allows Medicaid to fund home- and community-based services for people with autism and other disabilities. The changes are intended to make services more flexible and accessible, and to promote programs that get people with disabilities involved in their communities.

To help people use the new HCBS system to secure the best possible support, several advocacy groups created a website with information about the new rules and state-by-state information and resources. Visit to learn what your state has been doing with the new rules and what the changes can do for you.

Low-cost Internet

Internet access is essential for taking advantage of so many resources, but it can also be expensive. Some Internet providers offer low-cost options for low-income families; these deals include Internet service for about $10 per month and a computer at reduced price. If you need to save money on Internet, you can look at these programs from Comcast and CenturyLink.
