Thank you to those of you who made calls to your Representatives to urge them to pass the RAISE Family Caregivers Act (S. 1028/H.R. 3759). It passed the
House of Representatives unanimously! Because the House made a small change, the bill now returns back to the Senate so that it can pass the identical version.
Please call your Senators today and urge them to pass the bipartisan RAISE Family Caregivers Act before the end of this week.
The bipartisan Recognize, Assist, Include, Support and Engage (RAISE) Family Caregivers Act would help ensure that communities, providers, government, and others recognize and support the more than 40 million family caregivers in America. Specifically, the bill requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop, maintain and update a strategy to recognize and support family caregivers. The bill would bring representatives from the private and public sectors, such as family caregivers; older adults and persons with disabilities; veterans; providers of health care and long-term services and supports (LTSS); employers; state and local officials; and others together to advise and make recommendations regarding this new strategy.
These unsung heroes provide invaluable help to their loved ones so they can live at home and in the community – where they want to be.
Let the U.S. Senate know that you’re counting on them to be champions for family caregivers.
