Brandy's Story

Asperger's doesn't mean you can't find love, you just have to look harder. Oddly, when I found it, I wasn't even looking! I saw an ad online about a meeting for people interested in computers and technology at a local “hackerspace” and decided to check it out. I felt very shy because I was the only female and didn't know anybody, but when Matt said hello and offered to show me around, it put me at ease. I loved how he wanted to show me interesting things like an Android development project, not try a lot of small talk! We saw each other at the “hackerspace” more and then went on dates to things like old classic horror movies and an anime convention. It's like having a best friend, but with the romance mixed in, which I think is what a couple should be. Eventually, it worked out so well we got married and are expecting our first child in the spring! My advice to Aspies looking for a match is to find places where people talk about what interests you...it's much easier to have a conversation and find a match that way.
