Eric’s Story
May 19, 2011
By Diane
Let me tell you about my wonderful grandson, Eric. His mother found out when he was only 18 months that he was indeed on the autism spectrum. She got him help from the Clark County Nevada School District. It included social workers coming to the home until age three when he started attending school every day. The program has done wonders for Eric, who from, kindergarten on, has been integrated into the regular school system. His mother passed away in 2009, too soon to see the remarkable difference early intervention made for him. He was even on the first second-grade honor roll this year. If only all children with autism could get help early. So, keep the faith and maybe someday all children with autism will be able to get similar help.
