WHAT'S NEW AT THE AUTISM SOCIETY OF IOWA!
Welcome To Our New Website!
The Autism Society of Iowa is proud to join forces with the Autism Society and have our website be affiliated with theirs. This will allow us to provide our members in Iowa the ability to always be just a click away from the most up to date information on autism. In addition we encourage our viewers to "register" with our website. Click on the EMAIL SIGNUP (tab at the top). Note our newly adopted logo! State chapters of the Autism Society are now required to adopt the new national logo so we can become more unified in our awareness and fund raising efforts nationwide. We will still be able to call ourselves the Autism Society of Iowa, or ASI, as we have for the past 31 years. Our newest edition of THE LINK is hot off the press! LITE 104.1 Radio And The Autism Society Of Iowa Partner Up!
 This year our 21st Annual “Christmas in September” silent and live auction had a very special guest emcee – Mary Day from LITE 104.1 Radio. LITE 104.1 Radio and the Autism Society of Iowa joined forces to spread the word about the auction and what the Autism Society of Iowa does for those affected by autism spectrum disorders in Iowa.
In an effort to increase awareness of the Autism Society of Iowa, LITE 104.1 ran interviews with Kris Steinmetz, Director of the Autism Society of Iowa on their “Stop Watch” and “Information Iowa” programs. They also helped promote our auction on air and at their LITE Listener Lunches. Everyone at the Autism Society of Iowa would like to thank those of you who joined us for our 21st Annual “Christmas in September” silent and live auction. This year it was held on Friday, September 25. We had over 120 people join us at the Sheraton in West Des Moines and we grossed over $10,000 at the auction and in donations from the evening. Guests at this year’s auction had the opportunity to bid on many wonderful items including an autographed Green Bay Packer football, tickets to RENT, Iowa, Iowa State, Drake and UNI tickets and memorabilia, beautiful gift baskets, delicious baked goods, overnight stay packages – and that was only the beginning! We had over 60 live auction items and over 80 silent auction items and raffle giveaways throughout the evening. Everyone at our family friendly auction had a wonderful time.
