About us:

We are a chapter of the Autism Society of America, the oldest and largest autism advocacy organization in the country. We provide support, education, and advocacy to individuals, parents, family members, and professionals affected by autism across the lifespan and the entire autism spectrum in 12 counties in Northwest Ohio.

Our Counties: Lucas, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams, and Wood.

Our mission: To improve the lives of all affected by autism.

Our Support Groups:

NEW for 2010: Autism Parents' Support Group for parents and family members of children with autism meets the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8 pm at our office. 2010 meeting dates:January 12, February 9, March 9, April 13 May 11, September 14, October 12,  November 9, December 14. No meetings in June, July, August. Facilitated by Linell Weinberg. For more information call 419-578-2766.

Asperger Support Group for parents and family members of children and teens with Asperger Syndrome or high functioning autism meets the fourth Monday of the month from 6:30-8:30 pm at our office. 2010 meeting dates: January 25, February 22, March 22, April 26, May 24, August 23, September 27, October 25, November 22. No meetings in July or December. Facilitated by Linell Weinberg. For more information call 419-578-2766. 

Seneca Autism Support Group for parents and family members of children on the autism spectrum meets the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Early Childhood Center, 801 Kirk Street, Fostoria, OH. 2010 meeting dates: January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7, October 5, November 2, December 7. Facilitated by Jessica Weissenaur. For more information or to RSVP call 419-436-1898.

Parents of Adults Support Group aka "Healthy Livers" for parents of adults on the spectrum who live in the community meets the third Tuesday of each month at our office from 11:30 am - 1 pm. 2010 meeting dates: January 19, February 16, March 16, April 20, May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16, December 21. Facilitated by Ann Muder and Linell Weinberg. For more information call 419-578-2766.

Sibshop for children 8-13 who have a brother or sister on the autism spectrum. This is a chance for siblings to meet other siblings who have a brother or sister with autism, learn about ASDs, share joys and concerns, problem solve, and have fun. The group combines fast-paced recreational activities and food with information and discussion. The group meets the first Saturday of each month at the Grace United Methodist Church, 601 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH throughout the school year. 2010 meeting dates: January 2, February 6, March 6, April 10, and May 1. (A new group will start in the fall of 2010.) There is a fee of $25 for this group and pre-registration is required. Download the Sibshop Registration form.
