Bill now moves to Senate
On December 8, the Ohio House passed HB 8 - Autism Insurance Coverage. The bill will cover Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other medically necessary treatments prescribed by an insured's treating physician or psychologist. It includes a $36,000 per year cap on benefits, requires providers to be licensed or work under a licensed provider, delays the effective date of the legislation until January 2011 and a 1 percent cost increase opt-out for insurers. The bill now moves to the Ohio Senate for consideration.
