Advocating for Autism Inside and Outside the Beltway

Autism community gathers for Re-ACT Summit in Washington, D.C.
The Autism Society hosted the 2010 Re-ACT Summit this week, with advocates from across the country storming Capitol Hill to support important legislation affecting the entire autism community. Yesterday, advocates received training on speaking with legislators and engaging with Congress and the media back at home, as well as a wealth of information about the Autism Treatment Acceleration Act, the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act, the Preventing Harmful Restraint and Seclusion in Schools Act and Toxic Substances Control Act reform. Armed with this information, today the advocates took to the Hill to meet with legislators and urge them to support these important issues.
Even if you weren’t able to travel to Washington, D.C., for the Summit, you can still support advocacy efforts for autism. Use the links below to write your legislators and ask them to support the following bills:
