ASA honors those who have made a difference in the autism community
Each year, the Autism Society of America presents a number of awards and scholarships to individuals and organizations in recognition of their commitment to the autism community. Award and scholarship winners are announced each year at ASA's National Conference and Exposition on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Chapter of the Year: An award for an ASA chapter that has effectively worked together to use its resources and members to positively influence the lives of individuals, parents and professionals coping with autism in their community.
- ASA Oakland County Chapter (Michigan)
ASA Volunteer of the Year: An award presented to a chapter member whose work has positively influenced the lives of individuals, parents and professionals coping with autism in his or her community
- Gretchen Jacobs, Phoenix (Arizona) Chapter
ASA Literary Work of the Year: A literary work published or copyrighted within the last 5 years that has made a significant contribution to the broader autism community.

ASA Audrey I. Horne Memorial Award: Given to an individual or organization that has made an enduring contribution to improving adult services and improving the quality of life for those individuals living on the autism spectrum.
2008 Wendy F. Miller National Recognition Awards The Wendy F. Miller National Recognition Awards are funded through the generosity of Larry Miller (ASA member and past ASA board member) on behalf of his adult daughter with autism.
2008 Wendy F. Miller Parents of the Year: Demonstration of unusual dedication or effort on the part of a parent (or parents) of an individual with autism toward furthering the cause of autism, such as community awareness, advocacy or another significant accomplishment contributing to progress in achieving the goals of the Autism Society of America.
2008 Wendy F. Miller Professional of the Year: Awarded to a professional in the field of autism (educator, speech language therapist, social worker, occupational therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, medical doctor, researcher or other) who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishment in contributing to the life/lives of individuals with autism and/or to the cause of autism in general.
Wendy F. Miller Individual with Autism: Demonstration of exceptional dedication, effort or achievement. Areas to be considered can include, but should not be limited to: academics, the arts, athletics, community service, employment, extracurricular activities, transition or independent living skills.
2008 CVS/"All Kids Can" Scholarship Award Administered by the Autism Society of America, this scholarship is awarded to an individual with autism who has successfully met all the requirements for admission into an accredited postsecondary program of study.
