To be held October 29 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio
The first Advancements in Autism Award and Symposium will be held October 29 at the Sheraton Suites, 1989 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Presented by the Ardmore Foundation, this conference will offer three tracks of workshops that target transitioning; maximizing educational, family and community supports; and behavior approaches and interventions. Autism Society Board of Directors Chair Dr. Cathy Pratt and Autism Society Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy Jeff Sell will both be presenting workshop sessions at the symposium.
The symposium culminates in an awards gala honoring the work of the first Advancements in Autism awardees: Dr. Temple Grandin, nationally recognized autism advocate, author and scientist; and Barbara Yavorcik, Executive Director of the Autism Society of Ohio, autism advocate and community leader. The gala includes dinner, a silent auction and brief comments from awardees and special guests.
