Memorial and Symposium in Honor of Edward G. Carr
Thursday, October 22, 2009
To be held November 8 at Stony Brook
As many in the autism community know, Dr. Edward (Ted) Carr and his
wife were killed in a car accident earlier this year. Ted was a
friend, colleague, teacher, and mentor to hundreds of professionals and
students around the globe. His pioneering work in the areas of severe
problem behavior and positive behavior support informs the work of
every person currently working in the field of autism intervention. The Psychology Department of Stony Brook University is sponsoring a
memorial to honor the work and life of Ted Carr on Sunday, November 8 from 2-5 p.m at the Student Activities Center (SAC) Auditorium at SBU. Several of Ted’s
collaborators from around the country as well as former students and
local colleagues will pay tribute to Ted and his work. Speakers will
include Dr. Mark Durand, Dr. Rob Horner, Dr. Glen Dunlap, and Dr. Laura
Schreibman, as well as Ted’s friends, colleagues, graduate students,
undergraduate students, and family members. Ted touched many lives and
all are welcome to attend.
Registration is free; please complete the RSVP form on the Psychology
Department website to confirm your attendance: www.psychology.stonybrook.edu.
