New iPhone/iPodTouch Graphical Communication Tool for People with Autism

Spectrum Visions Releases Voice4U, a Customizable and Affordable Application
Spectrum Visions, a Silicon Valley startup to provide technology products and services for the autism spectrum community, recently announced that its first iPhone/iPodTouch application Voice4U is now available on Apple’s iTunes Store.
Created by the mother of a child with autism, the new app allows people with autism to easily select and tap on an icon and/or text from the menu, then show others full-screen graphic and play a voice recording, helping facilitate communication for those who might otherwise have difficulties. The application, priced $29.99 per download, includes more than 120 pictures ranging from everyday items to emotions, and individuals can new graphics by taking pictures and recording an associated sound on the device.
Voice4U is currently available in English and Japanese. Default graphics of Voice4U is the most suited for the needs of school-aged children, but can be used for wider age group with easy customization.
