The Autism Society’s flagship publication, the Autism Advocate, is published four times each year, reaching approximately 60,000 Autism Society members, supporters and professionals. The quarterly magazine offers a diverse collection of the latest issues in autism (e.g., education, environmental health, therapies/interventions, adult issues, caregiving, etc.), Autism Society news, personal perspectives of families and individuals living with autism, and tips from parents and professionals. You must be an Autism Society member to receive the Autism Advocate. To join, click here.

The Autism Society also publishes a bi-monthly online newsletter, ASA-Net, which goes out to over 100,000 members and supporters. ASA-Net includes up-to-date information on the latest research, education and advocacy efforts in the autism field, as well as Autism Society news, listings of upcoming autism conferences, and descriptions of various resources, such as books and DVDs. ASA-Net is free and is provided as a courtesy by the dues-paying members of the Autism Society. Sign up to receive the Autism Society's free e-newsletter ASA-Net.

Other Autism Society publications include our Living with Autism series, which covers a variety of topics affecting individuals and families affected by autism. Topics covered thus far include Asperger’s, sibling issues, transitioning into adulthood, puberty, sleep issues, and education-related topics, such as transitioning into kindergarten and middle school, and across grade levels. New topics are being discussed for future publications. Individual Living with Autism articles are available for purchase online at http://www.brightdoc.com/asa.

Read the following article from the First Edition 2009 Autism Advocate entitled “The Culture of Autism,” which was completely authored and illustrated by individuals on the autism spectrum to bring to light the diversity and varied accomplishments of people on the spectrum. The authors discuss everyday issues, such as parenting, relationships and even shopping, all from the perspective of people with ASD.
